ABOUT COACH BRODZINSKI

As a player, Barry Brodzinski was a first team All-American at North Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He scored over 2000 points before the 3-point line existed and is the only player to have his jersey retired by the school. He is also the only Philadelphia basketball player besides Wilt Chamberlain to be named MVP of the prestigous Farrell Christmas tournament. Brodzinski went on to lead LaSalle University to a 7th in the country ranking and the NCAA tournament in 1975.

 

His coaching career took off at Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia, winning two Catholic League Championships in 1982 and 1986, and winning the prestigous National Tournament of Champions in 1986. During this time, he led Roman Catholic to a National Top 25 ranking twice. Coach Brodzinski also coached three McDonald's All-American players - Dallas Comegys - Mark Stevenson - Tarone Thorton - on his way to a 115-33 record in the tough Philadelphia Catholic League. During Coach Brodzinski's 25 year coaching career,which also included stops at Brentwood HS(Pittsburgh,PA) and Paul VI(Haddonfield,NJ), he has won 70% of his games, coach 3 McDonald's All-Americans, and 14 Division 1 players.

 

For over 25 years, Coach Brodzinski was a mainstay at the world famous Five-Star Basketball camp. During this time he has amazed thousands of campers and worked with such NBA greats as Jordan, James, Paul, Laetner, Hill, Duncan, Mourning, Mashburn, Houston, Wagner, Williams, Comegys and Artest. Coach Brodzinski's teaching abilities and shooting technique led long time Five-Star Camp Director and one of the most influential people in the game of basketball, Howard Garfinkel to say, "He is by far the top shooting instructor in America".

 

Coach Brodzinski continues to help players become better shooters all over the world. His recent clinics have taken him to Italy, Switzerland, South Carolina, Wyoming, Texas, Florida and 30 other states. Coach Brodzinski's shooting technique is gaining global recognition, as he has now traveled overseas on 11 different occasions to work with professional and club teams.
